Glaucoma Services

Glaucoma services focus on the early detection, diagnosis, and management of glaucoma—a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve and can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. These services include comprehensive eye examinations, measurement of intraocular pressure, visual field testing, and optic nerve imaging to monitor changes over time. Treatment options may involve medicated eye drops, laser therapy, or surgery to reduce eye pressure and prevent further damage. Since glaucoma often progresses without noticeable symptoms, regular check-ups are crucial, especially for those at higher risk. With timely intervention and continuous care, glaucoma services help preserve vision and maintain a good quality of life.

OCT Scan for All Retinal Diseases

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scan is a non-invasive imaging technique used to diagnose and monitor various retinal diseases with high precision. It provides detailed cross-sectional images of the retina, allowing eye specialists to detect conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and macular holes at an early stage. This advanced technology helps in assessing the thickness and structure of retinal layers, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. OCT scans are quick, painless, and essential for the ongoing management of retinal diseases, contributing to better vision outcomes and long-term eye health. Regular OCT screenings are especially important for patients with chronic eye conditions, helping to prevent vision loss through timely intervention and care.

YAG Laser Treatment

A YAG laser, specifically an Nd:YAG laser, is a type of laser that uses a yttrium aluminum garnet crystal (YAG) to generate a powerful light beam. This laser is widely used in ophthalmology. The procedure is quick, safe, and highly effective, usually completed within minutes without the need for any incisions. YAG laser treatment helps enhance visual clarity and reduces the need for glasses or other corrective measures. It offers long-lasting results with minimal recovery time, allowing patients to resume normal activities the same day. Regular eye check-ups after the procedure help ensure stable vision and monitor overall eye health.

YAG Laser Treatment
Posterior Capsular Opacification (PCO): Common after cataract surgery; YAG laser clears the clouded lens capsule.
Yag Hyaloidotomy (for sub retinal hemorrhage)
Peripheral Iridotomy: A preventive treatment for angle-closure glaucoma, creating a small opening in the iris.

Retinal Laser Treatment

Retinal Laser Treatment, also known as laser photocoagulation, is a highly effective, minimally invasive procedure used to treat a variety of retinal conditions. This advanced treatment technique involves the use of a precisely focused beam of light (laser) to target specific areas of the retina. The laser energy creates small burns that help seal or destroy abnormal or leaking blood vessels, reduce swelling, or repair retinal tears and holes.

Green Laser Treatment
Diabetic Macular Oedema: Swelling in the macula due to diabetes.
Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy: Advanced stage of diabetic eye disease involving abnormal blood vessel growth.
Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR): A condition where fluid builds under the retina, leading to vision distortion.
Repair retinal tears and holes.

Intravitreal Injections

Intravitreal injections are a common treatment for various serious eye conditions, particularly those affecting the retina, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion. The procedure involves injecting medication directly into the vitreous, the gel-like substance inside the eye. These medications, such as anti-VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) drugs, help reduce inflammation, prevent abnormal blood vessel growth, and control fluid leakage in the retina, which can lead to vision loss. Intravitreal injections are generally well-tolerated, though patients may experience mild discomfort or a temporary increase in pressure after the procedure. Regular treatments may be required, depending on the condition being treated, to stabilize or improve vision. Follow-up care ensures the effectiveness of the treatment and the monitoring of any potential side effects.
